Open vCPE, a collaboration between Cloudify and VMware, lauded for offering service providers a rapid conversion to NFV, enabling the provision of next-generation network services and edge computing at a reduced cost-per-customer.
NEW YORK (PRWEB) NOVEMBER 02, 2017
Cloudify has received the 2017 Network Transformation Award for “Best vCPE/uCPE Enterprise Service.” The company was honored on October 11 at SDN & NFV World Congress 2017 in The Hague, Netherlands, for Open vCPE, a collaboration between Cloudify and VMware, Inc., that helps service providers deliver an Open-vCPE and SD-WAN solution in record time. The solution is based on Cloudify open source cloud management and network orchestration software, which is used by large telecoms and Tier 1 network operators for cloud automation and network functions virtualization (NFV).
The Network Transformation Awards honor the networking industry's most innovative people and companies and recognize their achievements in advancing software-defined networking (SDN) & NFV.
Open vCPE—A Groundbreaking Initiative
Cloudify’s Open vCPE solution uses an orchestration-first approach to NFV adoption to address one of the biggest challenges for providers—integrating with existing networks.
Traditional approaches to NFV adoption typically take 12-18 months and involve multiple cycles of vendor selection, internal training and POCs. In contrast, with Cloudify’s innovative orchestration-first approach, new virtualized network services can then be deployed in days or weeks rather than months, which translates to significant cost savings and additional revenue earnings for service providers.

“The pace of innovation in the NFV space is moving faster than adoption rates,” said Nati Shalom, CTO at Cloudify. “A big reason for this is that deployment times are too long. Open-vCPE is an approach that dramatically shortens deployment cycles, allowing new innovation to reach adoption faster. This award at the SDN & NFV World Congress highlights the need for speed in our industry, and we’re grateful to VMware for working with us to help make this solution a reality.”
“Communications services benefit from network functions virtualization based on open architectures and proven infrastructure such as VMware vCloud NFV,” said Gabriele Di Piazza, vice president of solutions, Telco Group at VMware. “By working with Cloudify, we’ve demonstrated a model for network evolution that can speed the delivery of new services to drive revenues while reducing overall costs.”
